Kasztor – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Kasztor is a 1 year old (born: April 2019), large, neutered male Cross-Breed who was sadly born to the wrong place. He was living as a stray in a village in Hungary and was constantly hunted and chased away by the villagers. When he was threatened to be poisoned by a dog owner as Kasztor entered his unfenced property to play with his doggie friend, we decided to take him on before the worst happens (Feb 2020).

He is quite a big lad, still a puppy who is very grateful for the care he’s getting and settles in nicely with his current pack. He loves cuddles and he’s a friendly tail wagger! He is an active boy too who’s just discovering the joy of playing with balls, soft and squeaky toys and he thoroughly enjoys them all! He is bright and intelligent, learns quick and is nicely biddable in the right hands. He is not aware of his size at all so he needs to be supervised with smaller dogs.

He can get naughty when he gets bored and he will need a good amount of physical and menthal stimulation to drain his energies. He is exuberant and energetic, with a zest of life, and can bump into your leg and cause all kinds of injuries in a heated play. Therefore we will not rehome him with children as he could easily knock them over. He does not mean harm though, he is just a playful giant who needs training to become a well behaved doggie.

Kasztor is sociable with dogs, active and playful without any aggression but he can be a bit too much for his mates sometimes. He currently lives with a pack of dogs including dachshunds as well as labradors and he is nicely fitting in with all of them. He travels nicely in the car, looking out the window and enjoying the view. He also behaved immaculately at the vets and greets everyone with a waggy tail. He’s not been house trained as he currently lives in an outdoor kennel, hence his adopting family will need to be prepared to train him if necessary. He is not getting regular walks and it is down to his new family to train him walking nicely on and off the lead.

Kasztor would be best suited with a family without children where he is not left alone for long periods of time. He will need to be kept busy in body and mind as he is quite an active and bright boy who’s very receptive of training. His socialisation will also need to be continued in his new family. He would like to be treated as a member of the family and included in family life. He will be your partner when out hiking or rambling, or do some doggie sports to keep physically and mentally fit. He could potentially live with a friendly doggie mate but he could also be happy living with his humans to care for him only.

As all rescue dogs, he will need time, patience, love and commitment from his adopting family to become a happy doggie. Kasztor is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for him. He comes fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork.

Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee.
