Let us introduce you to the oh so handsome long coated Akita Kobi! Kobi is turned 4 years old in December 2019 and is a complete and utter stunner! Although he is quite a big boy under all that fur he is still quite slight, this is how he arrived with us and his foster mum is working hard to get some meat on those bones and we are sure in a new home he will completely flourish. He does love his food and will eagerly sit and speak at food times. He knows his basic commands and takes treats so gently. He loves toys, especially rope toys which he likes to take into the garden for a game.
Kobi is a well balanced and laid back Akita but he can be giddy at times, he really loves going for his walks and gets really excited when he sees the lead. He settles well into his walk and is more interested in his surroundings than the other dogs he sees. He is a happy, funny and lovable soul and is affectionate and likes to share a hug once he is familiar with you.
As we have no history on Kobi we cannot place him in a home with young children. He is getting more interested in the other dogs in the home, running up to their kennels and trying to engage, so he could potentially live with a female companion pending further assessment and/or successful introductions to a resident female. He is not cat tested. He will need someone committed to the care of his long coat, he loves having a brush around his face and neck and through his love of belly rubs he is getting more accepting of the brushing of his underneath.
Kobi is now neutered, fully vaccinated and is microchipped. He is all ready to pack his bags and move in with his loving new folks, if you are interested in providing the perfect home that he so deserves please contact us. Kobi is currently fostered in Tyne & Wear.
