Forest – 11 month old male Cross-Breed

Forest is a 11 month old male Cross-Breed. He is a stunning looking lad who is looking for his forever home or a foster home that can continue to work with him. He is a young lad who can very easily become over excited and needs to learn how to settle himself. He only has 3 legs, he lost his front leg after being abandoned at a vets with a broken elbow. Once he has settled we will remove his shoulder as he is having difficulty balancing due to over rotation and he also has a swelling (fluid only) due to banging his stump during play.

We want to ensure he is fully settled before we undertake further surgery on him as he will need a secure environment to recover in. His current placement is ending and if a permanent home is not found we would welcome applications to foster him. Forest has lived with another dog but can be very full on and doesn’t always know when enough is enough, experienced dog owners who are used to the breed should have no difficulty in managing his behavior. He has also lived with cats although he will chase and can be relentless.

Due to having only 3 legs care needs to be taken to ensure that Forest does not over use his leg or gain too much weight. With direction and boundaries Forest is a great lad – he is looking for consistency and further training in his new home. Even though he only has 3 legs taking him to training classes will help give him mental stimulation as well as brushing up on his manners and listening skills. Like all teenagers he can cop a deaf ear if the mood takes him.

Forest is a lovely lad who so deserves his forever home. He would like new owners who are around for a good part of the day, he could live with another dog of the mix is right and owners are experienced. He is clean in the house, happiest sleeping on the floor beside his owner. He travels well in the car and is a friendly lad. He is currently in Orpington Kent. Forest has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. We welcome applications from people able to foster until his forever home can be found.

Please do only offer to foster if you have the time and commitment to continue to work with him. Forest is a great lad who deserves a bright future. Home check and set donation applies.
