Baxter is a 3 year old male West Highland White Terrier. He is a stunning lad who is looking for an understanding and experienced new owners. He is quite nervous initially and takes time to settle and trust. We have a limited history for him and because he is so nervous we would like an adult home for him. When Baxter settles and trust he is a fun lad to have around and his fosters are really enjoying looking after him. He will need new owners who are around for a good part of the day to help him to settle in and adjust to his new environment.
He has had mixed reactions to being with other dogs but with the right mix and owners we think he would be fine, Baxter may be better with larger dogs or a dog who is confident and not easily intimidated. His fosters are continuing to work on his socialisation with him and he is doing well. Meetings with any prospective canine members of the family would obviously be a necessity.
Baxter is enjoying his walks now and has been improving in his interactions, he is still not comfortable being too close to unknown people passing him or very loud traffic but he is continuing to improve all the time and with continued exposure he will grow in confidence.
Baxter has one fear and that is being touched when asleep, we have no idea what has happened to him but it is a fear based reaction and he should never be woken by touching him. He is easily managed though and his fosters have no problem with him at all. He is clean in the house and travels without any issues in the car (crated). He has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment.
Baxter is currently being fostered in Woolwich London.
