Millie – 9 year old female Jack Russell Terrier

This beautiful little girl is Millie, she hasn’t had a single application since being with us! She came into rescue as her owners no longer had time for her. Despite her being an oldie (don’t tell her!) she is full of energy, loves her walks and playing with toys – especially if they squeak! She would also sell her soul for a treat! Millie is nervous of new people and doesn’t like strangers touching certain parts of her body – Mainly the back of her neck and her back end – These are areas she cant see and needs to know you mean no malice before she trusts you to touch these areas. Millie needs new people to let her come to them for a fuss instead of going in to fuss her straight away.

Millie is a bit fearful of men and takes longer to be comfortable around them than women, she just requires more time to suss out a man. Once she knows you mean her no harm she is a really loving girl who loves to sprawl out on your lap or snuggle into the side of your leg. Due to Millies past, she can suffer with seperation anxiety. She is fine to be left for under two hours, but longer than this and she starts to stress that she is being abandoned and will bark, although she is much calmer if she is with other dogs while the humans are out!

Millie is looking for a home in a quiet area where the owners would be around a lot or able to take her out with them. She needs someone who understands that she needs a bit longer to trust than most dogs do. Millie would love a garden to play with her toys in as well as an owner who can take her on a decent length walks.
