Enol – 10 year old male Collie cross Ibizan Hound (Podenco)

Enol is a 10 year old male Collie cross Ibizan Hound (Podenco). Enol is a mature handsome boy with a black and white smooth coat, he is medium in size and weighs 28 kg. Enol needs a special home because he spent the first 8 years of his life tied to a pole outside a house, day and night, season after season, with not even a small shelter for the rainy days. Despite this he is an affectionate boy when he gets to know you. He is good during walks and doesn’t pull, he’s very calm. He’s also calm at home, clean and quiet.

We are looking for a very quiet home ideally with no children and no other dogs or just a calm female. He didn’t have the chance to learn to socialise with other male dogs and it’s still difficult for him. He’s compatible with cats. Poor little boy had never been a pet, never played with other dogs, he barely had contact with other beings.

One of our volunteers begged the owners to give him away, as they didn’t seem to have any love for him, and she took him home in 2015. Enol discovered what it was like to be in a family, to be taken care of and loved, to eat good food and go for walks for the first time in his life. And he couldn’t be more thankful.

Fosterer’s report: Enol is a very good boy, loyal to the core. His foster home thinks he has some Border collie in him, he’s very intelligent and loves learning tricks, he learns new commands very fast. He needs a quiet family with some experience that understand he needs some time and space in the beginning, people who understand he can’t be hugged the first day but he will love hugs after a while. He keeps asking for head rubs and belly rubs to his foster family, he’s really affectionate. He just needs time to trust people. He is not aggressive at all, but he can get scared of things he doesn’t understand so he needs people who understand how much he’s suffered and can help him; although he’s a really good dog and doesn’t need much work.

Current location is in a foster home in Spain can travel to the UK once he has a home to go to. Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, Neutered, Microchipped, Pet Passport, FREE 4 weeks Pet Insurance to be activated from the link on our website. Any known health issues NONE KNOWN.

For Dogs coming from Spain: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK. We can not home dogs from Spain to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough. Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 150 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account.
