Chase is a 3 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. Whilst Chase has been in our care in a boarding kennel environment we have had no issues at all. He may protect his bed when other dogs go passed but nothing major. He’d much rather ignore other dogs.
Chase is a hoarder of tennis balls and toys and every ball would be in chases bed if he could have them, although I can go in and return to the play areas no issues ( I always still leave him some). He’s a very active working cocker who appears to have a lot of collie traits in him. He will round you up and if over excited he jumps onto you, Chase is ball obsessed so much so he can go slightly deaf to you if he has a ball.
Although Chase needs lots of exercise a long walk on or off the lead would be boring for him, he likes to chase (Chase by name chase by nature) he loves to play ball and is lost if he doesn’t have a ball/ toy with him. Although this is getting better now and he’s happy to Potter while we cut the grass. He needs mental stimulation so much more than just physical exercise or a job to do while out.(find is his favourite game although he doesn’t bring to you he leaves elsewhere).
Chase will come for a love /cuddle but this is always if I’ve asked him to come. He’s not a sit on your lap and cuddle dog he’s a let’s be outside doing dog. He needs a busy active home but an outside kennel he can call his own. He’s shredded toys but not his beds, he’s been clean in his kennel everyday. This is his safe space, where he can have his tennis balls and just chill, in a home environment he doesn’t relax and becomes anxious.
Chase will make a loyal companion and will be your shadow when outside. He would love a rural home where he can be outside all day in the garden. This dog is a little pocket rocket with so much to give but needs time and understanding. It will take probably 3 months to start to see the real Chase, he is a goof in the most lovable way.
