Inky is a 10 month old female Cross-Breed. She is fostered in Gloucestershire. Inky has been in foster with Auntie Jo since the Easter weekend. She came over from Romania at 4 months old into a home, which sadly didn’t work out due to her issues.
Inky has a very nervous disposition, but is making daily improvements. Inky’s main problems are her fear of walking with people and cars around, and also her fear or men.
Inky is a stunning dog with beautiful markings. She is still growing and has long legs, and a long body. We estimate her to be around 17/18kg so probably not much more than 20kg once fully grown. She looks as though she has Collie in her breed mix. She is now living with 7 other dogs and is learning how much fun it is to play with them.
Inky lived with a cat until Easter and got on really well with her. Inky is very nervous of men, and also nervous out on walks. She did get used to the man she lived with, but is very wary of strangers.
Anyone who is interested in Inky needs to be very experienced with nervous rescue dogs, and have a confident dog/s in the home, who can help show her the ropes. We are also looking for a rural home for Inky. Inky will be a project for someone as she is a work in progress.
Inky’s submissive wees have improved. She was doing these in the car, but she has had a few days not doing this as she recognises that car travel means walk.
She is now enjoying her walks in the fields, where Jo rarely sees anyone else, and she is now having short walks on the pavements in Jo’s village – she definitely does not enjoy these, but is making small amounts of progress each time.
We would not home her with children as she needs someone’s individual attention and time, and also cannot be tested with them. She is fine with Jo’s young adult daughter, but not keen on her 18 year old son, but she is not aggressive, just barks loudly at him.
Inky was found with her siblings as young pups, and Mum, before she was taken to the private shelter by our rescuer. We think her fears are probably genetic.
Inky has had her first season in February so will need to be neutered in May, as part of her adoption contract. She is vaccinated and microchipped, and has a passport. She was tested for heartworm and tested negative.
Homecheck and adoption fees apply. If you feel you are the right home for this girl, please get in touch.
