Solomon is an eight month old small to medium Cross-Breed pup, fostered near Norwich. Solomon was rescued from the Botosani public shelter in Romania and had a very stressful start in life. In the shelter the dogs meet two kinds of people, the employed workers who are just doing their job and shoo the dogs back away from them so they can just get on with what they have to do, and the volunteers who really care about them but do not have enough time to spend with 700 dogs to undo the shooing away that they get from the workers. So many of the pups if they spend many weeks there will quickly learn to keep back from humans and this we have to undo when they arrive in the UK.
Solomon has a fantastically cheeky character and if born in another place and time I have no doubts that he would be the sweetest and most affectionate little dog you could meet. As it stands he is playing catch up, he does want fuss and cuddles but there’s still a small part of him holding on to the lessons he learnt at the shelter. Every day is a little bit better. When we sit down of an evening he is the first to jump on our laps and snuggle in for a cuddle. He enjoys a fuss but if you fuss him with two hands he will get nervous and jump off but come pretty much straight back up after. He absolutely loves his walks and has the time of his life running around the woods. He is wary of strangers and needs much more socialising which we would normally undertake but cannot take him anywhere more people due to lock down.
This adorable little pup has not had it easy in life so far, he needs an experienced adopter, preferably but not essentially, with another dog or dogs to teach him all about the fun side of life. He is comical and intelligent and will do well with someone keen on some form of obedience training.
Our adoption fee is £250. They are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless they are too young).
