Please meet Vulnerable Vernon! Vernon is a Great Dane of just one year old who sadly came to rescue when his breeder was shut down, he has spent his entire life in a shed with very little human contact or interaction and so is a very confused and shy little lad. Well What can I say?! This lad is both stunning inside and out and once he gets to know you I am sure he will make a fantastic loving companion, He needs someone to take him back to basics and turn him into the gorgeous boy we know he can be! So sad that such a baby has missed out on all his puppyhood and just doesn’t know how to be a loved pet, but we know there is someone out there just waiting to show him the way!
Vernon is initially very fearful and will try to avoid contact, however it doesnt take too long for him to come round, He has been with us for 3 weeks and is slowly learning how to interact with the dogs here, he initiates play but then seems to panic, he is very unsure of everything understandably as he hasn’t experienced anything in his short little life. and he absolutely loves the sofa now he has worked out he is allowed on it! Sometimes he can be a bit boisterous in his eagerness to do as his told, but he means well! He is a happy bouncy pup full of playfulness and love once he knows you, like most Danes he can be aloof with new people but a treat usually wins him over. Vernon is fine with other dogs however we feel a home with a mother figure of similar size would be the best match for him, he is also great with cats!!
Vernon is castrated and while under anaesthetic he had his stomach stapled to avoid him getting a twisted stomach in the future, a common killer in the breed. He is microchipped, de flead, fully vaccinated and wormed. Vernon is learning to walk on the lead but is very much a work in progress. He is a total star in every way and would be an amazing addition to any household that isn’t afraid of putting in the work and training. Vernon will need an adult only home, due to his size he may knock smaller children over. Vernon will need an owner with a good knowledge of the breed and previous experience, and plenty of room! Vernon is semi house trained although we expect accidents to begin with, he travels really well and is fine to be left for short periods. He seems quite happy in a crate playing with his toys!
Vernon is a 12 week old puppy in the body of a 45kg dog, he will need a lot of time and love in order to reach his full potential! Vernon is a big baby and loves his home comforts, he shares my bed with me every night!!
