Violet – 4-5 month old female Lurcher

Violet is a sweet Lurcher puppy who was probably born early August which makes her 4 and a half months old now. Mum was a small Lurcher and it looks as if Violet will be quite small too – perhaps large Whippet size? She is very active, loves running on the field, chases the other dogs. Her recall is excellent and she comes running to her name, sits and waits for her treat. Toilet training is fairly good. She will perform in the garden and come in for a treat. Sometimes, when the weather is bad, she will swerve back into the house and perform on a puppy pad. Typical Sighthound! She loves her food and has a mixed diet at the moment. She has good quality kibble with wet food and sardine for her first 2 meals and then raw, organic meat for her evening meal.

Violet would like a home where she is fed good food, kept warm with jumpers and coats, where she gets to run free in safe areas every day. She is not the dog to take for a lead walk in the park. She adores running with other dogs on clean totally safe and securely fenced land. Violet would like a home where her person/people are around most of the time, can give her the exercise she needs – but not too much because she is growing and must not do extended walking. Scampering at her own pace once or twice a day is better. She is fostered with several other dogs, can be annoying with them but loves to interact with them. So a home with some other young, friendly dogs would be great. Violet sleeps very well at night – 7 hours straight. She sleeps on her foster mum’s bed and would like to have the same privilege in her forever home.

If she needs to wee in the night, she gets off the bed and goes to a puppy pad to perform and then straight back onto the bed without disturbing anyone. Like all puppies she loves playing with toys and things that are not toys – like shoes, remote control, electrical wires etc. So her new family will need to be very vigilant in order to keep her safe.
