Tigzy is a 2 year old male Miniature Schnauzer. He has recovered well from his sarcoptic mange, he is mange free now and doing well. His coat will take longer to come back to its former glory. He had suffered without treatment for so long that he was essentially bald. He has a small covering of fur and is on supplements to help the restoration of his skin and coat. His age was taken from his microchip but we feel he is older than recorded given the state of his teeth and his behavior. We could be wrong and it may just be that the neglect he has suffered has taken its toll.
We are always honest about our dogs and suspect that this lad would be happiest with an older couple and a comfy sofa where he will be adored and receive lots of cuddles and attention. He does need regular baths and his skin moisturizing to keep him healthy and smelling fresh. As the weather is very cold we do pop jumpers on him to keep him warm and coats on when he goes out for a walk as we don’t want him to get a chill.
Tigzy is clean in the house, okay with other dogs but he does not actively play or interact with them. He is happy to share a space of needed but for the most part is happiest when in the company of his human. He is not great with cats so a cat free home would be best. As we have a limited history for him an adult or older teenagers please. He does enjoy his walks and then he is happy just to be with you either in his bed, by your feet or if allowed curled up on the sofa. Tigzy travels well in the car and is fine to be left for short periods, he can sometimes have a little bark but soon settles down to snooze.
Tigzy has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is u to date with flea and worming treatment. He is currently being fostered in Aldershot Hampshire.
