This handsome fella is Kuro. He is a 10 month old German Shepherd Dog who is with our Southern Branch in foster in Bournemouth. Kuro is a handsome lad with a rather troubled past. He didn’t receive proper lead training as a pup and is extremely strong on the lead as a result. He also puppy mouths – there is no malice, only play, but until he learns that this is not acceptable we will not consider homes with young children. He loves children, but he could accidentally hurt them.

Kuro loves people and really wants to please – he just doesn’t always know what you want. But he’s keen to learn; he has an active mind and a very active body. He can live with other dogs, but they would need to be able to match his energy – he doesn’t always know when they’ve had enough. He takes no notice of cats so far.
Kuro has some hair loss on his legs and belly. He has been seen by a vet who believes it is stress related, due to being left for very long periods in his first home. He is on a grain free diet with added oily fish, to help his fur regrow.

Kuro is looking for a home that is experienced with his breed, with plenty of energy and able to help him learn. Due to his age and the inadvisability of neutering this breed too early, Kuro will leave us on a neutering contract – neutering will be the responsibility of his new owner when he is old enough. Any potential adopter must bear this in mind, and we will follow up to ensure that its done.

Kuro Can’t live with children or cats but could live with an energetic dog that can keep up with him!
