Bailey – 9 year old female Beagle

Bailey is a 9 year old female Beagle. Bailey is through and through a typical beagle and a lovely representation of this wonderful breed. She loves everyone she meets and is incrediblye food motivated and vocal when she wants something. She has come into rescue due to no fault of her own; merely that her keepers simply didn’t make plans for her. She is now ready to find herself a family who will commit to her and love her for the incredible dog she really is.

Bailey has unfortunately been used for most of her life as a breeding dog. Her internal scarring indicates she has been opened up and stitched back up 10 times or more. The last litter she had almost ended her life and ended her career as a breeding bitch because vets had no choice but to completely remove everything in an attempt to save her. Since then Bailey has lived as part of a home with other dogs and children and has been a wonderful addition to a family, but she wasn’t taken into consideration with the families financial planning and unfortunately found herself back in the position of needing a home.

Bailey loves walking, she has a great recall if you have food. She knows sit and other basic commands. She does pull though so further lead training is needed. She loves other dogs and is non reactive on the lead. She also doesn’t have any form of separation anxiety that is common in beagles but does bark continuously to tell you she wants food! Unfortunately this has been encouraged so may need further work to break her of that habit. Bailey is currently very overweight but is losing weight slowly. New adopters will need to continue her diet and walking to help her slim down.

Bailey is very vocal when she wants something, calm and easy to do, a typical Beagle. Bailey is the perfect dog in so many ways. She’s great with everything and everyone and in all the circumstances we’ve put her in. Shes housebroken, non destructive in the home and travels great in the car. She will slot seamlessly into any family but we would prefer a home with beagle experience as they are an acquired taste!

Bailey is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and will be subject to a home check and adoption donation.

Pupcakes offer all adopters 4 weeks free insurance with Petplan and a complimentary voucher for a box of free food from “Nutriment Raw.”
