Timmy – 5 year old male Collie cross Pointer

Timmy is an almost five-year-old Collie / Pointer cross, mostly – possibly with some Terrier in there too. He is friendly, affectionate and playful. His level of training is good. He loves his food and mealtimes are one of the highlights of his day.

He is happy to go lie down when you are eating. He has had a few false starts and is desperate to find a forever home. He first came into rescue in 2014, where he spent two years in kennels in Cyprus before a UK dog lover sold her jewellery to fund his travel to the UK.

He has spent short periods in foster homes over the last three years but spends most of his time in kennels and he is becoming increasingly depressed. The rescue would be willing to consider a long term foster home for him to get him out of kennels as soon as possible.

He walks well on the lead though he has issues with other dogs that he meets on his walks and reacts badly to them. His last foster worked on this with him but it will need to be continued. We will be happy to pay for a consultation with a behaviourist to help you work out the best way for you to support and help him.

Timmy is lovely with people; however, he is a bit boisterous and so we would prefer to find him an adult only home.

He will chase a cat or other small furry animal. He also does not like most other dogs. So, Timmy really needs to be an only pet. Timmy would not be happy taking a stroll in an area with other dogs around and nor would he think a trip to your local shops would be a treat.

Timmy is looking for a home with a safe garden with strong, 6 feet high fencing, where he can relax and play with his new human. And play with you he will. He will be happy to learn new tricks and games. He is exceptionally clever. Any walks with Timmy would be best in quiet, country areas. He has in the past with training been able to walk past other dogs, but his new human would need to continue to work on this with him.

He is completely house trained and he is mega clean. He is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night in his crate. Timmy really does enjoy human company and separation anxiety may be an issue when he is left alone. He needs a home with someone who is home for much of the day.

Timmy is a stunning boy who has a lot to offer his forever home, but he does still have behavioural issues that require commitment and support from his new human. Timmy is looking for a very special person, who has the time to help him. He is a lovable boy, fabulous in the home and really deserves to find that special person. Timmy will reward his own human with lots of cuddles on the sofa and keeping you company.

If you would like to meet this smart, handsome, stunning boy to see for yourself just how good he is with people, please contact us. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Minimum adoption donation £100.

Timmy is incredibly depressed to find himself back in kennels, so we would also consider a long-term foster home where his human would be willing to help Timmy with his issues with other dogs.
