Charlotte is a 1-2 year old female Saluki Cross. This adorable young Saluki cross girl is sadly coming back to us. She was snapped up very quickly and life was on the up for her but after a few months the dynamics of the current home have not worked out for her. Sweet Charlotte came to us initially from Ireland with her friend Ettie – both girls had been thrown over the wall of the pound. Thankfully neither girl sustained any long lasting physical injuries. Charlotte has been living with three other Sighthounds but when the other Sighthounds bark at other dogs, it provokes much anxiety in Charlotte and she has redirected her anxieties onto the dogs.
Charlotte is not reactive when walked on her own. Charlotte has typical Saluki high prey drive. So if you are looking for an off lead dog, and you can’t handle her very keen interest in cats/squirrels/rabbits etc, then please do not consider Charlotte. Charlotte can be very boisterous in play so if homed with another dog, a very calm and self-assured sighthound would be beneficial.
If homed with another sighthound, then it is vital they are not reactive. As she has been homed with other dogs, it would be a difficult transition for her to be an only dog so this would need bearing in mind as she may well be prone to separation anxiety.
Charlotte is a great girl and will make someone very proud. She really had a horrible start to life and even though this rehoming will be another set-back, she is a brave girl who will thrive in the right home. She is a bit of a clown and has plenty of character. A very affectionate girl who is quite partial to belly rubs once she gets to know you. Clean in the house, not destructive. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. Not cat friendly.
