Bola – 8 year old male Griffon Cross

Bola is an 8 year old male Griffon Cross. Handsome, medium sized lad with a tan and white wiry coat. This poor boy, Bola, is 8 years old and has lived for the last 7 years locked up in the biggest pound in the northwest part of Spain, through no fault of his own. He hasn’t been advertised and so no one knew about him, he was just kept in the kennels all that time. He arrived in 2012 when he was only 1 year old, and he still doesn’t know what it’s like to have a family. He’s simply not been lucky, and nobody has fallen in love with him despite the fact that he really has it all, because he is a great dog: loving, sociable, affectionate. We don’t know if he’s compatible with cats. He is healthy, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to travel abroad. He doesn’t have behaviour problems, he loves people and is happy to meet new volunteers who take him out for walks. He is very affectionate, he loves head rubs and human contact. He is not wary or fearful at all.

Bola is good during walks, he used to pull a lot when he was younger but he is much calmer now, although he’s not used to daily walks so he still gets excited to get out. He would benefit a lot from daily walks and training, so he would stop pulling completely. He is obedient, he pays attention to the person taking him out and loves to stop along the walk to get a good fuss. He is sociable and playful with most dogs, he can be grumpy with other dominant dogs but in general he is sociable. He has shared his kennel with dozens of those dogs during the last years without a problem. Current location is in Spain can travel to the UK once he has a home to go to.

Adoption Fee : £ 265 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account. Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog. Before being adopted, dogs will have bee vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas. If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done. All dogs are microchipped, All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance FREE, to be activated from the link on our website.

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including – microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK. We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough. Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
