Angel – 8 year old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Angel is a 8 year old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Angel is looking for a new home as his owner is no longer able to keep him. He is looking for a very special home that understands his extensive health needs and is essentially understanding that his time may be limited. He is blind and has been for some time, Angel has adjusted well to loosing his sight and is still happy to walk on lead, his loss of sight is not holding him back but his new owners need to understand blind dogs and their needs.

His health is complex, Angel has a grade 5 heart murmur and it is unlikely that this will improve, his owner has stated that he was worse on medication and so he has been on supplements and not conventional vet medication. We will be happy to discuss this with potential new owners. His teeth are in need of cleaning we will assess if he is able to withstand an anesthetic and will be guided by our vets on this. We hope that we will be able to improve his dental health as this could have a positive effect on his heart. We don’t for one moment think that it will make a huge difference but any difference will be helpful to this chap.

Due to his age, health issues and lack of sight we will be looking for an adult only home, he has not lived with other dogs but his owner feels he may be happy with another dog of similar age and need. Meetings to check suitability would be a necessity. Angel is a very adaptable lad who is used to staying with lots of different people, he copes with this without issue and his carers have all loved looking after him.

We appreciate that it will not be easy to find this lad his final home, we cannot offer any guarantee that his life will be long, all we ask is that his time is filled with love and understanding.
