Ada – 2-3 year old female Cross-Breed

Ada is a 2-3 year old female Cross-Breed. She is anxious around men she does not know and trust, especially in indoor environments. It takes a lot of work for Ada to build up trust with men and women alike. But when she has gained that level of trust she is very affectionate and playful. Ada has not had much exposure to children. In outdoor environments she is usually indifferent to them.

She is generally good with other small dogs, including those she boards with when being cared for by our local dog sitter. However she is still anxious of larger dogs, especially when she feels outnumbered. In outdoor environments she will usually avoid them / avoid confrontation. In indoor environments she will sometimes grow / bark / snap at the other dog.

While it can take time for Ada to build up trust with other dogs it’s our belief that she would benefit from living with another dog to help provide her with confidence and companionship. The dog sitter who boards her has two cats and she will happily sit with them on the sofa. Ada is anxious around loud noises. Usually results in her jumping, running away, growling etc. She is good on a lead and walks well on and off lead. No barking issues. She shows possessiveness if you attempt to take a treat away from her. Any behavioural issues: Demonstrates reactivity towards other dogs and people, especially in indoor environments.

Ada is quite a lively and intelligent dog but seems despondent and depressed in the home. She rarely plays with toys and does not respond well to training commands, so we believe she would do best in a home where she has access to a garden and the company of another dog she can learn from and play with. She loves attention (once she’s gained your trust) so would do best in a home that’s active but not too noisy. She needs an experienced owner with experience of her fear-aggression issues and who has the time, resources, and lifestyle to support her development and help her lead a healthy, happy life.
