Woolfie – 3 year old male Husky Cross

This is Woolfie, he’s approx 3 years old and has been in foster since mid January (near Maddiston). Before this he lived on the streets of Romania and then went into rescue. Woolfie is small/medium Husky cross breed and is super soft! He is a very loving and happy boy. He loves strokes and would happily have belly scratches all day long. He has learnt lots since being in foster and is very keen to keep on learning. He just needs a little love, patience and time. Woolfie mastered ‘sit’ in 10 mins and is very eager to please. He lived with other dogs in a pen in Romania, and currently lives with a German Shepherd Dog. He is very playful, sometimes a little too much and needs a time out.

When he sees another dog out on a walk he growls or barks, so careful introductions are needed. He has learnt to go to the toilet outside as long as you let him out every 4/5 hours. He has adored everyone he has met, but due to his bouncy nature when excited, he would need to either live with adults or older children. Woolfie is still learning so many things about how to live in a home, things like the TV being too loud and hairdryers scare him, so he’ll run into the other room. He also is scared of loud noises when out on a walk, so will need to be kept on lead until he is a bit more confident and has mastered recall.

Passing motorbikes and cars are scary and his initial instinct is to run away. He can be left alone and isn’t destructive, but can be cheeky by getting things off the side! He absolutely adores going for a walk and needs around an hour a day. He also loves to play with toys! He’s still in the process of learning how to share and will offer you his toy to throw, but he doesn’t like it when you just take it from his mouth.

Woolfie also sleeps through the night in his bed like a good boy. He has fox-like mannerisms such as how he pounces mixed with puppy playful nipping and cheekiness. He has already come such a long way with his training and is going to make someone a wonderful companion, he just needs some guidance and time. Are you looking for a friend like Woolfie?
