Tony – 3-4 year old male Cross-Breed

Tony is a 3-4 year old male Cross-Breed. Tony is a rescue from Cyprus, currently living with his foster mum in Falkirk, whilst he waits for his forever family to find him. Here is a little about him: Tony has a good heart. He has had to learn to be a dog again, learn to run, and mix with his foster pack. He has also for possibly the first time in his life had to learn how to deal with lots of new happy experiences. He has a big heart and just adores being with his human. He loves to learn and is learning to play with a ball and to play fetch. He also knows basic commands such as sit, lie down, and come which he didn’t have before moving in with his foster family. He is scared of other dogs and sometimes humans. But this can be helped with very slow introductions and gentle, kind handling.

At the moment he is scared to play with new dogs and can react with them in his fear. His new family can continue to work on this by using slow introductions to new situations so that he understands no harm will come to him. Tony has been hurt before and we don’t know what the circumstances were. He has marks on his bottom lip and a bit of his ear missing. He doesn’t seem to like older, short men especially wearing caps. He seems to prefer women or taller men. He would be better with a woman around him as it seems to make him feel safe. He is crate trained and this was used initially for introducing him to his foster family’s dogs. He sleeps really well and is in a crate at night.

He can be left alone for a few hours but enjoys company when he can get it. He has learned to trust again and is now ready to find his own a special person who will hug and play with him. He could be an only dog but would be better with a good natured other dog in his new home. He thrives on attention and love and prefers to follow you around although he is learning to wait and stay. He is a healthy boy and has a good appetite. He does get very excited when you come in and can jump up but this has improved by ignoring him and saying no then praising him when he sits.

Tony would also prefer any children in his new home to be older and dog savvy. He has made amazing progress in a short time of foster, with continued training he will make someone very happy and will be their buddy for life. He is such a lovely playful puppy and an absolute joy to be with.

If you are interested in this really lovely boy and would like to meet him and confirm for yourself just what a playful, happy pup he is, please contact us. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The minimum adoption donation for Tony is £275. ADOPTION IS SUBJECT TO HOME CHECK. Full post adoption support is offered by our charity.
