MINE! 52 Corgis and Their Favorite Toys

Originally published in September of 2017, this newly spit and polished post (with a few new additions) is my gift to you on Day 10 of Twelve Big, Beautiful  Days of Christmas Corgis!

When you get right down to it, everyday with Corgis is a little bit like Christmas anyway. Isn’t it?

Enjoy!

XOXO

Brunhilde

With Brunhilde, the ball is never far. Now going on 9 years old, she was born in Southern California and now lives happily in Germany. ❤

— Elisabeth Dietrich-Fry

Franny

Franny’s favorite toy since she was a baby has been her “featherstick.” Even at age 11 with arthritis, she will still run and chase it until she is completely worn out.

Yes, it’s a cat toy. 🙂

— Erin Lawrimore

Beckley

This is Beckley, our foster corgi. He’s got a few stuffed squeaky toys but the Avocado is his favorite! The pit squeaks and he paws at it trying to get it out. It’s adorable.

— Meredith Walsh

Joey Jackson Johnson

Joey loves all his toys, but his binkie is one of his favorites.

— Paula Welch

Pippa

Pippa and her kitty. I drive three hours to Ikea a few times a year to buy replacement kitties. Yes, that’s my IKEA excuse. 😁

— Steph Ritchhart Garcia

Isabelle

Isabelle got her little shark toy for Christmas 2015 and even though it doesn’t squeak anymore she still carries it around.

— Mimi Morgan

SGT Buckley

SGT Buckley is never ever ever ever without his wwg ball.

It’s even included in his official military portrait.

— John Cy Buckley

Ladybug

This is Ladybug, aka Lovebug! She has a toy box full of toys and couldn’t decide which toy she wanted to nap with.

— Jennifer Graschel

Welly

Welly has always loved his Wubba collection. He has a pumpkin one, a Christmas one, a small blue one and his Mega one. He loves them all the same.

He throws them and catches them and chases them all by himself for sometimes up to an hour at a time, when he is healthy. One of the first signs that he was feeling a little better after his recent major surgery is that he grabbed a Wubba and carried it around. ❤

— Jessica Johnson

Raleigh

This is Raleigh  She really loves all her toys. There are at least 5 gutted carcasses on my bed. Skunks, a chipmunk, a fox and more. My daughter removes the bones and toys every night and Raleigh takes them right back up there!

— Patti Walsh

Kai

Kai used to have a small caterpillar cat toy that he took everywhere. He even grabbed it before he left the house. NOW all the toys are his. This wasn’t staged, he does this!

Mine, ALL MINE.

— Liz Connor Kodadek

Clover

Clover and her well-loved lion.

— Martha Nichols

Leo

Leo loves soft, squishy squeaky toys in the house, but his all time favorite toy is his blue jolly ball that he plays fetch with outside. He’s had the same one for about 7 years. We put it in a safe spot each time we’re done so his blue heeler brofur won’t get it.

It’s starting to really show some wear and tear. He refuses to carry it by the handle and jams his mouth on it to pick it up. We have a back up, identical, blue jolly ball, but to Leo there is only one blue ball.

Leo is 9 years old and I don’t know what I’d do without him.

— Shelby Shirley

Justice

Here is Justice with his blue bunny. He also has a green one and a purple one.

— Nancy J. Jones

Lily

Lily loves the plush toys that honk or squeak. When it is walk time, she tosses a toy in the air and bites it to hear the sound, carries it a little ways and then finally leaves it for our walk back in our woods.

— Sherrill Adamcik

Duffy

That’s me, Duffy, with the Orange Toy that Peanut’s Grandma, Ms. Clarisse gave me!

Love, Duffy

Pebbles The Tiny Corgi

Pebbles loves her chicken toy!

— Vicki Denheyer

Rusty

Rusty is a toy hoarder.

— Kathy and Andrew Wilson

Lincoln

Lincoln with his pound puppy. He passed away unexpectedly in June.

With a big smile and the soccer ball he loved.

XO

— Allanna McAuliff Sendzicki

Mycah

Mycah and her squeaker.😊

— Aimee Parisian

One of our two Corgis has an obsession with his “precious”, a pink Kong (aka The Pinky). He must know where it is at all times. What’s strange is that he will carry it from the family room upstairs to his bed, then 2 minutes later bring it back down to the family room. We watch him make this round trip 6-10 times an evening … crazy, like he’s just never comfortable it’s safe where it is.

This is a rare moment where he’s lying still with it. Our other Corgi knows NEVER to go near The Pinky!

— Jayme Gwin

Porter

Porter and monkey.

— Tanya Stone

Nugget

This is Nugget with his dog toy. His mom gave this to him when we picked him up. He’s 3 months old and loves this squeaky dog.

— Maureen Madigan Gorcheck

Peanut

Our Peanut (now at the Rainbow Bridge) used to love his Green Toy, Orange Ball and Teddy Family.

— Peanut’s Family

Dublin

Dublin and her ducks. ☺

— Aimee Parisian

Laci

This is Laci and she’s the tennis ball queen! She loves fetch and hasn’t ever bothered with any of the other toys I’ve gotten for her over the years. At 13 1/2 and with arthritis, she’s still chasing her tennis ball!

— Lynda Eyberse

Tegan

It’s all about the pig for Tegan. She starts every day with a game of chase. The human chases Tegan to get the pig away from her. 😂 It’s rubber, so we thought it wouldn’t last very long, but she’s had it for more than 6 months. Just carries it around honking it all. day. long.

It’s’s a good thing the humans love Tegan a lot!

— Chrisann Lowe

Ginger

Ginger napping with Squeaky Sheep placed behind her for safekeeping.

— Paula Wilkison

Pesto

We got this toy for him, except a smaller size, when he came home at 10 weeks. He grew too big for it so we had to buy him the identical one except larger — ha ha!

— Angie Pagendarm

Zoe

Zoe with her frisbee. She was obsessed with it. She passed in 2010. I still have it. ❤

— Terry Orr Monfort

Belle

This is Belle. She has lots of toys but Lambchop is her very favorite. She starts each day running around the house and playing fetch with it.

— Diane Stavenhaven Kadletz

Elvis

Elvis and his baby!

— Donna Bowie

Freja

Freja eats EVERY toy, except this baby toy which stays in her crate. The other day she dragged it out and rested on it!

— Jane Middleton

Walker

Walker loved his piggy until I brought home the donut. Now the piggy is sad and lonely.☹ Anyone want to give the piggy a good home?

— Otto Oswald Otter

Sophie

This is Sophie and her Wolly.

— Nancy Sutter

Rem

Rem loves his duck!

— Diane Bishop

His Lordship Gabriel

His Lordship Gabriel’s British toys were brought back by his human all the way from London. He loves them!

— Vanessa Zynn

Franklin Looney

Franklin loves his squishies!

— Melissa Looney

Eli

Eli absolutely loves Snow Baby. He will carry her all over the house (outside too). He first became attached when we would take the boys to visit our mother, whose health was failing. We would drive 2 1/2 hours each way and Eli used Snow Baby as his pillow in the car.

Someone said that Eli associates Snow Baby with our mother. I am not sure that is true but would like to think it is. By the way, Snow Baby used to be white. Now she’s really grey.

— Patty Hoeler

Louie

Louie loved lambchop to death. He does love his red, white and blue chew toy too!

— Mary Reilley-Clark

Penny

Despite a large variety of other toys, Penny’s choice is always her chew bone! It takes her a couple of weeks to mangle one. Because she has a sisfur Laci, I buy a chew bone for each of them, but Laci always goes back to her tennis ball and Penny ends up with both chew bones!

— Lynda Eberse

Sullivan

Fifteen year-old Sullivan is not a formal guy, so we call him Sully. He loves toys!

— Sandra Park

Honey Buns

Hi! I’m Honey Buns and I love my cow.

Love, Honey Buns

Archie

Archie napping with a few of his favorite toys.

— Kaya Flaskerud

Peyton

Peyton and his lobster. Aside from one particular red ball (which always seems to travel to the far reaches under the furniture), Lobster is the one toy Peyton is attached to. All the way from Islamadora, Lobster has withstood the test of time for 6+ years. A few stitches here and there but Lobster still makes his glub, glub, glub noise.

— Patty Hoeler

Georgie

Six year-old Georgie of Michigan has his own well-loved plush buddy.

He also likes bowties and has an Instagram account. Check it out!

— Susanne Ungerer Rutilla

Corbu

Corbu and his frisbee!

— Sybil Slavin

An Honorary Corgi

My big boy has his teddy that we replace every November from Petsmart. He grabs it before he goes to bed, like a toddler.

— Lisa Charlton
