Eugenie – 5 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Eugenie is a 5-year old Yorkshire Terrier who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She is slowly coming out of her shell but is still very jumpy with sudden or loud movements. Eugenie does not like strangers and she will hide if frightened. Eugenie loves to be stroked and made a fuss of once she gets to know you. Eugenie is not bothered by other dogs. In the home Eugenie does not pay much attention to dogs although she likes to sleep with them and follow them around occasionally but will not interact with play. Not cat tested.

Eugenie will hide if feels unsure of things. She is fine to be left alone for a few hours and feels more secure when left in crate. She will often take herself off for a lie down in the crate and it seems to be her ‘safe’ place. Toilet training is work in progress as, although Eugenie will go out garden if put out there, we still having quite a few accidents in house. Adopters will have to be prepared to work with Eugenie as living in a home is new to her. The great outdoors is all new to this little girl. She will walk short distance with a harness on but will freeze. This is something her adopters will have to be patient with and let Eugenie get used to things in her own time. We think Eugenie would be best homed in a quiet home with no small children. Eugenie could be rehomed with an older dog for company, but currently won’t interact with play.

Eugenie is not neutered as she has just come out of season so a commitment to neuter will be required and followed up. She will need some dental work at the same time. She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales.

If you are interested in adopting Eugenie please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
