Hari – 2 year old male Lurcher cross Bearded Collie

Hari is a 2 year old male Lurcher cross Bearded Collie. Stunning light grey and white, long coated, medium sized, young boy who is a very loving and loyal boy. Hari is medium size and stands at 50 cm and he weighs 16kg. Hari is a sweet, loving dog, and very friendly with other dogs and people. Hari came to the Portuguese shelter earlier this year and the volunteers instantly fell in love with him. It was discovered later that at some point he had been picked up by hippies and was living with them but one day they left and didn’t take him with them. After a short period of living on the street he was taken to the shelter. Hari lived with cats when in one short term foster. He is quite fascinated by them but when told to leave them alone he did. Loving, friendly if a little nervous to start with he needs support with his confidence building. We are looking for a home with another dog for him to live with.

Foster Report: He went from the shelter into a foster home and has settled very well with his foster carer. She is an elderly lady and she says he is an absolutely delightful dog. They cuddle up together on the sofa and he sleeps with her at night. Hari is very much a people’s dog. He likes to play with other dogs but he wants someone to love and who will love him. He is very good on the lead even though we don’t believe he has had any training. Hari is a little insecure and needs reassurance so therefore should not be left alone for long especially at the beginning.

Current location is in foster in Portugal can travel to the UK once he has a home to go to. Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, neutered, Microchipped, Pet Passport, FREE 4 weeks Pet Insurance to be activated from the link on our website. Any known health issues NONE KNOWN.

For Dogs coming from Portugal: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK. We can not home dogs from Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.

Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 365 – to be paid direct to the Portuguese rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account.
