Ziko is a stunning 3 year old male Cross-Breed African village dog. Originally from Zambia, he is an extremely loving dog who has found himself seeking a new home through no fault of his own. Ziko is a much loved family dog who was destined to join his owners in Australia after they emigrated. Unfortunately, it was discovered he is a carrier for a disease that does not cause him any health issues. He is a healthy happy dog who will however require prescription flea and tick treatment for the rest of his life to ensure he does not pass it onto any other dogs.
Ziko has spent almost a year in kennels waiting to join his family, for nothing. His family are devastated but have been left with no choice but to find him a new home in the UK. Ziko is an intelligent, bouncy ,affectionate dog that loves exercise and play. He loves playing brain games and puzzle toys are his favourite. He is strong on the lead and would benefit from some additional training and an active home.
Ziko previously lived as a bonded pair with his sister, however he can be wary of dogs he doesn’t know and can occasionally be reactive on the lead. He is however very food and toy motivated which makes redirecting his attention easy. Ziko could be rehomed with older teenagers but is not to be rehomed with other dogs.
