Capri is a five year old female Labrador cross Collie. Capri is fostered in Dereham (FR029). Before coming to us Capri was caught by dog catchers in Romania and spent a few years in a public shelter. She was a very shy girl when she first came to us and barely let anyone touch her. Nowadays, Capri’s confidence has massively improved and she is happy to be stroked by people once she has built up her trust in them. With this in mind care should be taken with guests to the home so as not to make her feel overwhelmed (either by putting her in another room, or asking visitors to ignore her unless she approaches them). She is a very devoted girl with the people she loves and wants to be around you, but is unassuming and waits politely for your attention.
Capri is absolutely brilliant on walks. She trots along so beautifully beside you that you have to check you’ve not dropped the lead! She has great manners and doesn’t pull, doesn’t react to other dogs she meets and can run free with a trailing lead attached. She’s walked past cats on walks and not bothered with them at all. She has also been good with my free range chickens.
Capri can be quite a serious little girl at times but she has bonded really well with a couple of the other dogs in her foster home and is having more and more moments where she lets her guard down and plays and lets herself be silly for a little while. Ideally, Capri would like a fairly quiet household where she can devote herself to her new owners. She is happy in her multi dog foster home and would like to live with at least one other fairly playful dog.
