Indigo is an Anatolian Shepherd Dog. Her date of birth is approximately 1st January 2018. Even though she was an unclaimed stray at around 16 weeks, she had clearly been loved and cared for, sadly dispute extensive searching we have found no trace of an owner. Indie is a very nice sociable young pup. She has tremendous stamina, and does struggle with the way the older dogs like to laze around in the afternoons, rather than play crazy puppy games – doesn’t everyone want to play all day? She has a strong character and although not wilful, does try it on with those, human and K9, who are less determined than she is.
Indie is lovely to take out, and travels very well in the van. She travels in a crate, but is growing so tall, she will soon be upgraded to the middle section, in a travel harness. One of her favourite outings is to our local dog friendly cafe, where on her very first visit her behaviour made such a good impression, she was approached about joining the Burns reading scheme, in which children read out loud to dogs ( and cats I believe). She has been friendly and outgoing with all the people and dogs she has met whilst with us.
Indie’s tail is amazing, and curls around your arm like an elephant’s trunk when you walk alongside her. Indie is going to be a very big girl, she needs a large home with room to stretch, and a family who understand her breed traits and prepared to continue with her education, she is a bright and intelligent girl who will need continuing guidance as she matures, to ensure she retains all her good manners. She likes children, and behaves as though she is used to all ages.
Indie is living at the Sanctuary, near Kidwelly, with Fionna and her canine friends. If you think you might be the family she is waiting for, please email us. We will send you our adoption enquiry questionnaire and full details of the adoption process.
