Eric – 4 year old male Miriotic Shepherd Cross

Eric is a 4 year old male Miriotic Shepherd Cross. He was rescued after being abandoned, his rescuer found him living dangerously on the streets of Romania, he was half the size he should have been with a matted coat and looking very emaciated. Eric came into our care 6 months ago and since then he has evolved into the dog he was originally meant to be. Eric is now at a healthy weight and after a lot of love and care we are confident he is ready for his perfect home. Eric will need someone experienced with the breed as although he lives peacefully with his foster siblings he can be reactive towards other dogs when out on a walk, he has recently been assessed by a positive behaviourist and the initial report can be viewed by who ever is interested in him. When Eric first came into our care it soon became apparent that he was suffering from some kind of skin condition, after a few vet visits and allergy tests he is now thriving on the medication he is on. At a cost of around £50 a month we as a rescue are happy to cover the first six months of this. Eric is a lovely dog and we believe there is a home out there for him. A statement from his fosterer.

A truly remarkable boy, Eric is a gentle teddy bear that is a dream around the house. He is great with my young grandchildren and my two small sometimes quite contrary rommie rescues, preferring to walk away than engage in conflict. In the six months he has been with me, he has learnt to enjoy human affection and there is nothing he loves more than a back scratch or tummy rub and human affection. A total foodie he will do anything for a treat. However sadly the shadows of his past haunt him when it comes to strange dogs when out on walks and cause him to be dog reactive. He has a behaviourist support plan and currently we are using the CARE protocol to build his confidence. The hope is in time that his world can be expanded through training and positive enforcement.

Following severe malnutrition, Eric has developed into the strong, chunky boy he was always meant to be. He is thought to be between 3 and 5 years old. After 6 months in foster. Eric needs an experienced home that can continue his training and give him the time, and space to enjoy the wonderful life he so deserves. The perfect home would be quiet, have a spacious garden or even better land where Eric could wander and chill and feel safe in his own little corner of the world. Older or no children would be the preferred option. Due to an environmental allergy. Eric is on a monthly prescription for Apoquel which is effective in controlling his symptoms. At home is a laid back dog that loves to spend most of his day chilling on a comfy bed.

Eric is looking for his chance, his chance of his forever human, his chance of a happy and fulfilling life, his chance to shine and make his human proud of who he is.

Home check and adoption fee will apply.
