Abril is a 2 year old female Pointer. Abril was found with her 2 puppies in the countryside in Badajoz, central Spain. She will have belonged to a hunter and one of her puppies has a docked tail which makes us think the pups weren’t born where she was. We’ll never know exactly what happened but a kind rescuer in the area interevened and took them to safety and they have been in foster for about a month. The pups are now being adopted and Abril too is looking for a good home.
Abril is a very good-natured dog, she adores people, even more than most pointers, which is saying something. She wants to be as close to people as she possibly can and lives for cuddles and attention from humans. She’s also really good-natured with other dogs, really not a bad bone in her body. She’s got a keen prey drive, she runs after anything that flies and stops and points when she sees anything of interest. She hasn’t been tested off the lead but it is very likely she will need time invested in her recall. The great thing is that she’s very eager to please and very food-driven which should make training easier.
We are looking for adopters with time and patience to train and exercise this young pointer, ideally with gun dog experience.
The adoption fee (£395) includes transport to the UK from Spain, passport, microchip, neutering if old enough, vaccines (normal boosters and others required to travel) and disease checks.
