Harry is a 3 year old male Ibizan Hound (Podenco). Handsome Harry is a very affectionate lad who loves people and other dogs very much indeed. He is a medium sized, white, smooth coat Podenco boy who stands at 57cms tall. Harry is a very well behaved boy, he walks well on the lead and is calm and gentle. He isn’t keen on cats. Poor Harry has had a very hard working life before coming to the shelter, and was starved of food and love. This makes him look a little more mature, but since being here he has put on lots of weight and has learnt to trust and love people.
Here are some before and after photos from when he first arrived to what he looks like now. We are all very proud that he has turned out to be such a nice well adjusted handsome boy. For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering , parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
