Ria is a 5 month old female Ibizan Hound (Podenco) cross Dachshund. Sweet little puppy Ria is a petite Podenco cross Dachshund with a smooth light tan and white coat, she is the sister of Jazz. They have long bodies and short little legs and are very sweet and friendly and gentle. They are smaller than cats and mix in with the other dogs and cats very well. Ria stands at 25cm and weighs only 3kg. Ria is learning to walk nicely on the lead she likes children and does not food guard.
Ria and her sister Jazz were found abandoned by the side of the Spanish shelter gate one morning – no mum or anything left to indicate they have a home. Special little girls ! its hard not to love them as they are so sweet and just typical little pups. In to everything and happy to play with the other dogs and will listen when told off by an older dog. Current location is in a foster home in Spain can travel to the UK once she has a home to go to. For Dogs coming from Spain: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
