Nano and Nea are 3 month old male and female Ibizan Hound (Podenco) Crosses. Nano and Nea are two beautiful little youngsters born in January this year. We think both will grow to medium sized dogs. They are not related but were found together in the Spanish countryside and they seem the best of friends, although we will home them separately to get them the best homes ! Very friendly and happy little pups and they love the attention of the staff at the shelter. Meet Nano who is a rough coated cream and white little boy and Nea a tan and white short coated Podenco girl with four white feet.
Both pups were found by a Spanish volunteer abandoned near an old ruin, she bought them back to the shelter. Lead training will commence this week! We do not know about children or cats but as they are young pups we imagine they will be OK with children and we can introduce them to a cat if required. Current location is in Spain can travel to the UK once they have a home to go to. Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated. Too young to be neutered but this must be done when they are old enough by the new owners, Microchipped, Pet Passport.
For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
