Logan is a handsome, gentle, calm and unassuming Collie. According to his passport he is 10-years-old (though he seems younger to me). Logan was caught by the dog catchers and taken to the harsh Radauti Public Shelter in Romania, where he spent two, long years. When he first came into his foster home, Logan was very scared and hid for a week or so, unable even to look at me. With some gentle persuasion, he finally started to interact with the other dogs and then with the humans, but he is still very affected by his past traumas. Logan is fostered in Dersingham, Kings Lynn (FR026).
Having said that, Logan is the perfect dog in nearly every way – he is 100% clean in the house, is a gentleman around the other dogs (occasionally having a gentle play), he walks beautifully on the lead, comes when called, sometimes sits on command, and is quiet and calm around the house and is happy to be left with the other dogs. When I come home from work, or when I talk to him, he wags his tail sedately.
However, Logan is still very, very scared of hands. This means that he prefers to stay out of reach and can’t bear to even look at my hands or take a treat from me directly. Stroking him makes him freeze and cower though he is making steady progress with this. When it is walk time, he comes to the back door with the other dogs, but tenses up and bows his head to let me put the lead onto him. Then, as soon as we are off, he relaxes, his tail goes up and he sets about sniffing all the wonderful smells and peeing on everything that he needs to mark, just so happy to be out and about. Logan obviously needs a very special owner who is prepared to help him overcome his fears. If you could be that person please call.
